Dart was found under a bridge in Dallas on Thanksgiving Week. The temperatures were dropping into the 20′s and it was time to get that boy rescued and into a warm home. He went to the vet on 11.29.13 and it was found he has sarcoptic mange. Not only has the mange been treated, but his heartworms are being treated as well. He has a grade 2/6 right-sided heart murmur and is recovering from his ordeal. Donations are still needed for him!
Shy was rescued from the Mesquite Shelter and was down to wire on getting put to sleep. Apollo Support & Rescue was able to find a foster just in time but when we got her she was very ill. We took her to the Animal Emergency Hospital where she was diagnosed with Parvo. She was hospitalized several days before she finally began to eat on her own. Shy went in for her follow up vet visit and is now is losing her hair and is diagnosed with Mange. This poor girl can’t catch a break. She has started treatment and is on the way to recovery once again. She has a great foster mom, April who is taking wonderful care of her.
Teddy was saved from the shelter after severe trauma to his ears.He is still not healing even after several rounds of antibiotics. He has ears that have had a bad crop job/ trauma and have closed up, so his ear canals are no longer open.He will need a very expense total ear canal ablation. Right now he is heartworm positive.Teddy is a wonderful sweet old soul who enjoys the company of older kids and dogs his size. He likes to be part of the group and not secluded or he feels left out. He still has some years left to live and this gentle giant deserves to have his health returned and to find his forever home.
Upcoming Fundraising Events
These babies landed at the shelter before Apollo saved them in a nick of time. The shelter said mom was a shepard but we see a lot of golden in these cuties. Adoption fee is $199 and includes age appropriate shots, microchip, 30 days of pet insurance and spay/neuter when they are six months old. Plus in most zip codes around Keller to Irving and other close cities we also provide two free puppy trainings in your home. Taking applications now and will be available to go to their adoptive families in late July.
Robbie is a girl and will turn 1 in August! She was the runt of the litter when she was a puppy but is now full grown and only 30 pounds. She is current on shots and will need to be spayed. She is kennel trained and house trained with a doggie door. She is an active girl that lived on a farm and loved to jump fences to chase livestock…unfortunately the farmers didn’t appreciate this so a home in the city maybe a place where she can make friends.
Check out all the animals Apollo has available.
