Weekly Wag 6/21-6/26

The weekend of June 21st was a HUGE one for Apollo, the Fort Worth Animal Shelter and dogs and cats looking for a forever home/foster!  232 animals were adopted/fostered last weekend! Thank you to everyone who helped save a little, furry life!

Furry Friends with Medical Needs

Teddy was rescued from the Fort Worth Shelter in 2013 and had serious injuries to his ears. He was also heartworm positive and looking for a family to love him. After years of neglect and trauma to his ears…rescue was just what he needed. He has been to the doctor several times and had several rounds of antibiotics but the area still keeps leaking out the side od his head with infection soon after antibiotics are over. It has been determined that he needs a CT scan and a Total Ear Canal Ablation in order to completly fix the problem. He will also need blood work and xrays to be done before hand. – Donate here.

Zack was rescued from the Fort Worth Shelter with an old injury to his leg. It has caused him much pain and arthritis and the vet recommends that his back leg be removed for better quality of life – Donate here.

Ellie will be heading to the vet for symptoms of a Uterine infection.  Please donate to care for this sweet baby here on our website!

Poor little Luna was adopted during the Mega Adoption extravaganza but has parvo. She is not with us but will be taken to a shelter if she can’t be helped.  Please help the adopters by calling our vet to donate (817-467-6688) or you can donate here on our website. Let’s keep Luna in her new home!

Upcoming Fundraising Events

Ranger, the Blind Pit Bull Puppy Liftathon
Ranger was rescued from the Fort Worth Animal Shelter where he was taken after he was dumped in someone’s front yard – blind, scared, and severely malnourished.  Ranger was rescued and has made excellent progress but still has a long road ahead of him.  Arlington Strength and Conditioning is going to be holding a Liftathon with proceeds going towards Ranger’s medical costs.  Their athletes needs “Sponsorships for Pounds” from individuals and local businesses.  Sponsor an athlete based on the total pounds they can lift. For example, if they are able to lift a 200 lb. squat, 300 lb. deadlift, 150 lb bench, and 100 push press, the combined total is 750 lbs.  Based on a commitment of .05 cents per pound, the total donation would be $37.50.  Call Arlington Strength at 817-371-1246 with any questions.  or email for a sponsor card. The fundraiser is being held June 28 beginning at 9 AM.
