What do I have to do to adopt a pet from Apollo Support and Rescue?

Download our application and email it to us. Once we review it, we can make arrangements for you to meet the dog at an upcoming adoption event. We know that adoptions aren’t always the perfect fit due to other dogs, kids or lifestyle so we offer adoption, overnight visits and we will always take one of our Apollo dogs back. We ask you to thoughtfully consider what kind of dog would fit well for your family now and for the lifetime of the dog. This is a commitment and these dogs are counting on you to be their family for the rest of their life.

What is the adoption fee?

Adoption fees are a donation and are tax deductible.

All of our dogs that are under 80lbs are $199.

All of our dogs that are over 80lbs are $250.

All dogs will leave microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on their age appropriate immunizations. Spay/neuter prepaid voucher for TCAP is included for puppies/unaltered dogs.  If Apollo Support and Rescue microchips the dog we use 24Petwatch which includes 30 days free insurance. We also have a free vet visit at Chisholm.

Can you volunteer at adoption events?

Our dogs and organization have many things to do and we can always use some helping hands.  Are you available on weekends to help walk our dogs, clean up after puppies or be a friendly face to answer questions for adopters? Have you ever worked in grooming and can help with some beauty makeovers for these dogs? Do you like road trips? Sometimes our dogs are adopted a few hours away and we need help with home checks and delivery. Are you a writer and can submit dog related articles for our blog? Maybe you have a couple of hours where you can make phone calls to follow-up on our adopted dogs that need to show that they fulfilled their commitment to get spayed or neutered?

Email us to tell us how you can help.

How are donations used?

For us, it is all about the dogs. Donations are used to provide care and medical treatment of our dogs until they are adopted. We supply fosters with dog food and medical care for the dogs and many of the dogs we save have been neglected or abused and require medical intervention and treatment.

Where do you rescue dogs from?

We rescue dogs from the local shelters in the North Texas area. Many of our dogs are from the Fort Worth Animal Shelter or dogs that have been released and living on the streets.
